The beginning of a new week

Today saw the beginning of a new week....week 8 of building I think.

Phil and Peter worked hard all day getting ready to take the roof off later this week.

The beginning of the day saw Peter fixing up the doorway into the dining room. It now is quite tall, apparently it will have a better impact when the whole house is finished.

They then moved on to the outside and put up yet more scaffolding around the house in readiness for taking off the roof. Once this was in place they took off the guttering and eaves. Sitting here at the computer I can see through a gap in the ceiling where the eaves and guttering used to be. Hopefully this warm weather will keep up.

Today was Bank holiday so Mark had the day off. I always find this amusing considering he doesn't work in a bank! We went to the movies this morning to use up some free tickets that are due to expire at the end of the week. We then went down to Cronulla for a beautiful lunch sitting out in the sun. It actually got quite hot which was nice.

When we got home it was to find the back door from the kitchen has been boarded up and they very kindly moved the door to the other side which is at the back of our old bathroom.

The weather forecast for this week is sunny with Thursday supposedly getting up to 24degrees.

Hopefully the builders will take full advantage of this by getting lots of work done on top of our house.
